GuiXT Deployment Made Easy – New Deployment Mechanism
Burlingame, CA (01/21/03) -- Synactive today announced the release of GuiXT Server that enables GuiXT deployment without having to install the software on the client machine. The GuiXT Server will emulate the functionality of SAPROUTER, making it possible to massively deploy GuiXT without the need to configure each and every client machine.
GuiXT is a standard component delivered by SAP for the Gui Frontend. It is used to simplify, streamline, and combine multi-screen R/3 transactions into one. Typically, GuiXT is installed on the client machine during the installation of SAPGUI. With GuiXT server, installing GuiXT on every machine is now purely optional. End-users will be able to gain GuiXT benefits by simply configuring a SAPROUTER string in the server properties box in SAPGUI that points to the GuiXT server.
With this capability, GuiXT can now be deployed with ‘zero-footprint’ on the client machines. This not only simplifies deployment, it also simplifies management.
