Materials Management in Manufacturing
Once a production order is created in the system, users confirm and sign off the selected operation which is the first operation in a production order. If the order is not technically complete, users can configure the order and complete the order technically. After production order is technically complete, goods movement happens. After order is being configured, order is sent to stock.
Common Issues: Manufacturing needs a rework function which issues what is in a stock to rework production order, compare “As Currently Configured” for the base part and serial number combination of the material against the end-result material and revision. This requires the creation of rework production order and simulated production order to display the delta differences of the components and to decide which components to retain, reject or omit for the reworked production order.
