6.05 Gestures


Liquid UI for Android supports different types of touch gestures to allow users to interact with the App. You can use the following gestures.

Single tap

Liquid UI for Android allows you to perform a single tap on SAP screen elements. A single tap on the SAP Input Fields, text boxes, and table columns allows you to execute the search (F4) process and edit/enter the values.

  • You can perform a single tap on any Input Field like Order Type to open a device keyboard with F4 and Scan options as shown below:
     
     
  • You can also perform a single tap on any tree node to select a particular tree node as shown below:
     

 

Double-tap

Liquid UI for Android App allows you to use a double-tap gesture for navigation purposes. For instance, double-tapping on the hotspot label, existing on any tree node, will navigate you to that particular transaction screen.

  • You can double-tap on any node of the tree control to navigate to that screen.
     

 

Pinch open and close

Liquid UI for Android allows you to adjust the size of the SAP screen elements on the screen using the pinch open and close gesture.

  • You can use two fingers moving further apart to zoom on the screen for a larger view.
     
     
  • You can use two fingers moving closer to zoom out the screen.
     

 

Long press

Liquid UI for Android supports long-press gestures on the SAP screens. You will see different context menus when you perform long-press on different SAP screen elements as shown below:

  • Long-press on any Input Field like Order Type to open the context menu with SCAN, OCR, GPS, F4, cut, copy, and paste options as shown below:
     
     
  • Long-pressing on any textbox will also open a context menu with SCAN, OCR, GPS, F4, Cut, Copy, and Paste options as shown below:
     
     
    • F4: This option allows you to search for an available entry for the corresponding Input Field. 
    • OCR: This option allows you to scan the alphanumeric details and update them in an Input Field. Learn more about the OCR feature.
    • SCAN: This option allows you to enter the input by scanning a barcode. Learn more about the Barcode Scanning feature.
    • GPS: This option allows you to track and enter the latitude and longitude values of your location. Learn more about the GPS feature.
    • Select All: This option allows you to select all the text in the field.
    • Cut: This option allows you to copy and remove the selected text.
    • Copy: This option allows you to copy the selected text.
    • Paste: This option allows you to paste the copied text.
     
  • Long-press on any Grid toolbar button  like Add to open the tooltip of that button as shown below:
     
     
  • Long-press on the label or text field to open a popup menu with select, help, and copy options, as shown below:
     
     
  • Choose the Select option that enables you to highlight the label.
     
     
  • Click the Help option to find technical information on the Order Input Field.
     
     
  • Choose the Copy option to copy the “Order Type “ to the clipboard.
     

 

Swipe

Swipe gesture allows you to view all the list screen data, table rows, columns, context menu options, toolbar menu, and main menu. This feature helps you to save time and make it faster to move from one thing to the next on the screen.

  • You can swipe from the left edge of the display to view the main menu options of the Liquid UI for Android.
     
     
  • You can swipe up or down the context menu to view all the options.
     
     
  • You can swipe on the tab strip to view all the available tabs.
     
     
  • You can swipe left or right the toolbar menu to view all the hidden menu options.
     
     
  • You can swipe left or right to view all the table columns on the VA02 Overview screen.
     
     
  • You can swipe up or down the rows on the grid control.
