It has more than 15.500 employees in North America and had sales of approximately 16.4 billion $ in 2007. BASF portfolio ranges from chemicals, plastics, performance products, agricultural products and fine chemicals to crude oil and natural gas. BASF globally has more than 95,000 employees and posted sales of almost 58 billion Euro in 2007. BASF utilizes GuiXT Offline solution in two major plants which are Rockaway and Freeport to streamline plant transportation execution process in trailer and rail yards resulting in a custom offline interface. Regarding Supply Chain Management, they have specific events that they apply to each of the equipment coming out of the plant such as receiving the equipment, moving it to another location and releasing it from warehouse in their transport execution process.

These events occur in hierarchical order. They are executed sequentially in which one action drives the initiation of another. In Supply Chain Management System, GuiXT Offline solution records all these events and has them transferred to online systems at once. Thus Offline which would be installed in RF guns would help operators to manage each event clearly and help them log errors and see the successful data posts from one specific location. The major effect of GuiXT Offline solution would come out as the integration of Supply Chain Management System with Sales and Distribution System in BASF. Without the difficulty of managing transactions in two different systems, operators would be able to work any transaction they want and during download or upload they would decide which system they want to connect to post their data. Therefore, GuiXT Offline would eliminate the decision factor for operators on which system to connect by defining it in a configuration schema and give them a more flexible business environment.
