Liquid UI - Documentation - 2.3.12 Biometric Lock

2.3.12 Biometric Lock

Purpose

Liquid UI for iOS now supports the most advanced secure authentication process with the Biometric lock feature. This feature authenticates your users' identity before they edit or connect to your SAP Server and thus protecting data from any unauthorized access. Once configured, this feature allows your users to log into your SAP either using their face or their fingerprint instead of entering their username and password.

Biometric Lock provides you a two-factor authentication process where users confirm their identity by either of the following options:

  1. Touch ID
  2. Face ID

The Biometric feature is implemented at the SAP connection level, so on enabling this feature, users can’t connect to their SAP server or even see their SAP connection details without confirming their identity.

Prerequisites

  • Check the device hardware for biometric authentication support for a fingerprint or facial recognition.
  • Make sure to register with a fingerprint recognition system or facial recognition system on your device to use the Biometric feature.

User Interface

In this scenario, you will learn how to enable biometric authentication for an SAP connection in your Liquid UI for iOS App.

  1. On the Server Connections screen, click ADD CONNECTION or EDIT CONNECTION to open the connection details screen. In this article, we will be editing the existing connection details.

  2. Enter the SAP server connection details.

  3. You can see the Biometric Lock button on the top. Slide the control to enable the biometric lock and it displays in green color as shown below.

  4. After enabling a Biometric lock, you either need to use the fingerprint sensor or face detection sensor or the device passcode to authorize Liquid UI for iOS App to use your biometric identity.

Note: Credentials will be similar to the credentials set for your screen lock.

  5. Click Update Connection details button to save the SAP server connection details.
