4.05 Deactivating GuiXT to render SAP Customization via Liquid UI Server

GuiXT(Liquid UI) is bundled with every release of SAP. It provides SAP users with a method to customize SAP screens and transactions without necessitating any ABAP programming. Instead, users can simply write short scripts that will customize SAP, removing unnecessary screens and simplifying the interface. Once you purchase a valid license, you can perform more advanced tasks, such as combining transactions.

You need to deactivate GuiXT to stop running local WS scripts under SAP GUI whenever you are running Liquid UI Server scripts for customization. These scripts are saved in the directory mentioned in the guixt.sjs file of the server. If you do not deactivate GuiXT then SAP screen customization is done based on both the server scripts and local scripts which will create ambiguity during SAP customization.

Note: To customize SAP screens using Liquid UI Server or Web Server, you need to deactivate GuiXT under SAP GUI.

To deactivate GuiXT, please do the following:

  1. Launch SAP. Press Alt + F12 or navigate to the Customize Local Layout menu as shown in Figure 1.
Figure 1: Customize the Layout menu
  2. Click the icon and the menu options appear, as shown in Figure 2.
Figure 2: Customize the Layout menu
  3. To deactivate GuiXT, click Activate GuiXT that removes a checkmark in front of the selected option as shown in Figure 3.

GuiXT is now deactivated and you can view the program execution in the server console mode.bat file.
