Elements include: description, functional location, priority, source (reported by), and main work center and dates.

Solution

GuiXT is used to simplify the process and automate steps. An interface is created that is no more than one click away for each piece of the PM notification, PM order, and PM order confirmation transactions. Screen simplification was achieved while maintaining SAP transport cycle for SOX compliance and IT development process control.



Materials Management

In this area, purchase requisitions are used to order materials of all kinds and to allow the approvals for buying those goods to be accepted or denied prior to the creation of a purchase order. Purchase orders leave the company and are sent to outside vendors. As for purchase requisitions, they remain within the company for adjustments, changes or approvals thus allowing all division employees to order materials within the guidelines before being sent to outside vendors.

Challenge

The challenge with SAP is that several account assignment categories could be used in creating requisitions. A requisition could be created with services that have to be performed in purchase orders or with a dollar amount limit that could be spent against a blanket purchase order. The dynamic structure of the transaction makes navigation harder. In addition, users must navigate to different screens within the process to view and enter required information in order to create a requisition.

Solution

Implementing GuiXT enables you to create a standard layout to create, change, and display requisitions. This enables users to identify the errors and the modifications for the material that they do the modifications for explicitly. GuiXT enables the creation of more comprehensible screens with comments, icons, and explanatory texts created for process elements such as account assignment or item category (what they represent is not clearly stated in native process). In addition, creating requisitions is streamlined by automating user entries in different screens thus increasing efficiency.
