Business Case:

  • Notifications are created by the plant users as they find any issues.
  • Work Orders are then created either from the existing notifications or directly.
  • These work orders are then sent to the technician to get the work done.
  • Work orders contains the operations to be performed, which might come from more than one notification and also the estimated components required listed on the transaction.
  • Once the work is started, time confirmation is done against each operation. The goods required are issue again if not listed on the work order previously.
  • Upon completion of the work, time confirmation is completed and goods issue is finalized.


Problem Statement:

  • Using native SAP, various screen navigation is required and too many unwanted fields to make entries.
  • Data to be entered is present in different tabs within the same transaction and also within different transactions.
  • Training first time SAP users with these complex screens will take a lot of time with a possibility to miss verifying or updating certain information.
  • Increased time consumption, leading to a low productivity rate.


Synactive´s Approach - Recommendations:

  • A launch pad is designed to include all the transactions needed for the user. User is automatically taken to launch pad if he has a certain role.
  • Navigation to different notification types (2 types) and order types (2 types) is made easy.
  • All required information to be entered by the user is present on the screen. Rest of the fields/tabs are deleted.
  • The screen design changes depending on the type of notification or work order. Automatic notifications created when creating work order as required notification fields are present on work order screen. Same changes made to change and display transactions.
  • On saving work order, user will be navigated to confirm time and issue goods, instead of navigating to time confirmation transaction.
  • User can see the Bill on material on the Launchpad based on a particular equipment.
  • User can also search parts based on Material or storage location.
